What Is A Mini Abdominoplasty?

If complaints such as bulge, flabbiness and sagging in the abdomen are localized only under the belly button and if this condition cannot be corrected with liposuction, we prefer mini abdominoplasty. The recovery process of the mini tummy tuck is relatively faster. It leaves a shorter scar and the position of the belly button is not changed. In conjunction with abdominoplasty, we often perform liposuction on the upper part of the abdomen and the waistline to achieve a more effective result.

Abdominoplasty is performed under general anesthesia. It takes about 2 to 3 hours on average. In this surgical procedure, the poor quality sagging abdominal skin with stretch marks is removed as much as possible, the loose abdominal muscles are tightened, the belly button is moved to its new location, and when necessary, regional excess fat deposits are removed with liposuction. After the operation, patients stay in the hospital for 1 to 2 nights. After 5 to 6 days, daily activities can be performed. Patients wear a corset for a period of 1 month. It is recommended to avoid activities that strain the abdominal region for 1 month. The desired result of the procedure is seen within 3 to 6 months.

Will I Lose Weight After Abdominoplasty?

When you get on the scales after abdominoplasty, you will see a weight loss proportional to the amount of tissue removed. However, the primary purpose of this surgical procedure is not to enable you to lose weight, but to reshape your abdomen and waistline.
