In some people, eyebrow levels may be slightly lower either congenitally or as result of aging. A low eyebrow level causes the person to look older and sad, and also causes the eyelids to look droopy due to the accumulation on the upper eyelid. Having a high eyebrow level is something desired by women in particular.
Eyebrow lift can be performed in 2 ways.
Nonsurgical Eyebrow Lift
It is performed under general anesthesia. The eyebrows are suspended upwards through an incision made on the scalp. If necessary, the temporal lift procedure can be performed in the same session as well. When performed alone, eyebrow lift usually does not require hospitalization. Sutures are removed one week after surgery. The edema subsides and the result becomes more noticeable in 3 to 4 weeks on average. The duration of its effect varies from person to person, but it is longer than that of other procedures such as botulinum toxin injections.
Botulinum Toxin
With a botulinum toxin injection alone, which takes 10 minutes in clinic conditions, it is possible to lift the eyebrows to a certain extent. With botulinum toxin injection, it is possible to remove wrinkles such as crow's feet, forehead lines, and frown lines. The only disadvantage of this procedure is the short duration of its effect that is 3 to 6 months on average.
