Botulinum Toxin Injection

Botulinum toxin is derived from a bacterium. It is a common myth that Botox is snake venom or something like that. It has been first used to treat strabismus, and with its muscle relaxant effect, it has been one of the top products used today for cosmetic purposes.

Gravity and facial expressions are among the most effective causes of aging in the face. Gravity is a factor that we can never prevent, but it is possible to prevent the facial expressions that cause aging. In fact, facial expressions that create lines on our faces are generally the involuntary ones.

For example, frowning when we are angry, squinting our eyes as a reflex when we are exposed to sunlight, and raising our eyebrows while talking are the facial expressions that generally do not look nice and cause lines on our face over the years. Botulinum toxin prevents, reduces or eliminates the formation of lines on our faces by weakening these unwanted facial expressions, and also slightly raises droopy eyebrows and the corner of the mouth. When applied correctly, botulinum toxin never affects your pleasant facial expressions such as smiling.

When Should Botulinum Toxin Be Applied?

If it is applied regularly before lines start forming on our face, the lines caused by facial expressions do not form at all, and the lines that have just started forming disappear over time. Lines that have already been permanent, on the other hand, can be made less noticeable. It is applied to all ages over 18 around the world, and since the level of awareness on this issue is increasing with each passing day, formation of lines is prevented by applying lower doses at earlier ages. Regular application is essential for a successful result.

How Long Does Its Effect Last?

The effect of Botulinium toxin lasts 3 to 6 months on average.

Because botulinum toxin is injected subcutaneously, topical anesthetic creams applied to the skin do not provide a considerable benefit. I apply botulinum toxin by cooling the skin and I think this is quite effective in reducing the pain. The procedure is performed using very fine-tipped needles. The procedure takes 5 to 10 minutes on average.

After The Application

Despite being rare, mild redness may be observed on the skin but it disappears within 24 hours. Its effect starts being noticed within 1 to 2 days. The desired effect appears within 7 to 10 days.
