‘Our eyes reflect our age, emotional state, feelings, and energy inside us'.

Eyelids are a dynamic region with anatomical features different from the features of other parts of our body. It has a very thin skin that is tightly adhered to the muscle layer under it. Every time we make a facial expression or blink, the eyelid skin folds. Considering that we blink and make facial expressions countless times during the day, we can say that it is inevitable for the eyelids to wear out over time. With aging, lines and wrinkles develop on the eyelids. The eyelid skin starts sagging due to the laxation of the muscles under it.

The fat layer surrounding our eyes, on the other hand, starts falling down over time due to the effect of gravity, and under-eye bags develop on both upper and lower eyelids. As the midface and cheek tissues descend over time, a dark, sunken image appear on the lower part of the lower eyelid, and this makes the under-eye bags more noticeable. With the effect of facial expressions, and due to squinting in summer in particular, lines called crow's feet develop around the outside corners of the eyes The eyebrows descend over time and make the accumulation on the upper eyelid more prominent.

Evaluating both upper and lower eyelids, even the positions of the cheeks and eyebrows, and considering the eye contour area as a whole when planning an operation on the eyelids enables us to achieve more successful results.

Upper Blepharoplasty

Interventions intended for the upper eyelids are usually performed under local anesthesia when they are performed alone. In the procedure, the sagging excess skin and the underlying muscle are removed, and then the fat pads (if any) are removed. The procedure takes 1 hour on average, and it does not require hospitalization. Thin eyelid tapes are applied to the eyelids, and the eyes are not closed. Slight swelling and bruises on the eyelids are an expected condition, which lasts for a period of up to 1 week. On the 5th day after the operation, the sutures are removed and the tapes are stripped from the eyelids.

The swelling gradually subsides, but it may take about 1 to 2 months for the swelling to subside completely and the final result to appear. In some cases, especially with aging, the eyebrows descend and make the accumulation on the upper eyelid more prominent. In such a case, it is not adequate to correct the upper eyelid alone, and even if an aesthetic operation is performed on the upper eyelid, a significant improvement may not be achieved. In such cases, first the temporal lift procedure is performed in the same session to lift the eyebrows and temple area, and then the upper eyelids are corrected.

Lower Blepharoplasty

Lower blepharoplasty is performed preferably under general anesthesia when performed alone or in conjunction with upper blepharoplasty. The procedure can be performed in 2 ways. In cases where there is no serious wrinkles and sagging on the lower eyelid skin, and where there is only under-eye bags, it is possible to remove the under-eye bags by performing the surgical intervention called transconjunctival blepharoplasty through the inner part of the eyelids. This procedure involves no incision made on the outer part of the eyelids. In cases where under-eye bags are accompanied by wrinkled, sagging skin on the lower eyelids, the under-eye bags are eliminated and the wrinkled, sagging skin on the eyelids are tightened with the surgical procedure performed through an incision made just below the eyelashes (subciliary incision).

The procedure takes about 1.5 hours on average. The patient stays in the hospital overnight. Thin eyelid tapes are applied to the eyelids, and the eyes are not closed. Swelling and bruising may occur on the eyelids but they disappear within 1 week. Sutures are removed on the 5th postoperative day. It may take about 2 to 3 months for the swelling to subside completely and the final result to appear. In this procedure, dark circles under the eyes that we call treat grooves are corrected as well. If necessary, nano-fat injection can be included in the operation to eliminate the weak and sunken appearance in the lower eyelid and midface area.

Under-Eye Light Filling

For patients who have slight under-eye bags but no laxity in their eyelid skin, a special filler can be applied to the dark circles under the eyes that we call treat grooves, in order to eliminate them to get rid of the dark circles. This procedure is performed in outpatient conditions and takes 10 minutes on average. Its effect can be seen immediately. Although the duration of its effect varies depending on the filler used and the patient but it is between 12 and 24 months on average.

Crow's Feet

Botulinum toxin injection is the most practical and effective solution for crow's feet.

Jelly Rolls

In some people, the eyelids may look as if they are wrinkled because some parts of the muscles in the lower eyelids are thicker than normal. This problem can be solved non-surgically with just a simple botulinum toxin injection.
