Liposuction is a body reshaping procedure that we perform to reveal your body contours hidden under the fat masses. Excess fat deposits in areas such as the waist, hips, inner thighs, and around the belly button have a stubborn character. After the formation of excess fat deposits in these areas, it is usually impossible to get rid of them despite a strict diet and exercise program. With liposuction, we access regional excess fat deposits through small incisions of 3-4 mm and then eliminate them by using a variety of techniques.
Who Are Suitable Candidates For Liposuction?
People who have disproportionate body contours due to regional fat accumulation although they are not overweight, those who cannot get rid of regional excess fat despite diet and exercise, and those who want to have more attractive body contours are suitable candidates for liposuction.
Who Are Not Suitable Candidates For This Procedure?
Overweight people, those with excess weight, those with sagging skin, and those who are excessively abdominous due to abdominal visceral fat accumulation are not suitable for liposuction, but they can be evaluated for other lifting procedures.
What Are The Application Areas Of Liposuction?
Liposuction is often performed on the waist, abdomen, buttocks, back, inner thighs, hips, inner sides of the knees, arms and jowl areas. However, it can also be performed on other areas with excess fat accumulation.
Can Liposuction Be Performed on Men As Well?
Liposuction can be performed on both women and men. In addition, it is often performed to treat abnormal breast enlargement in men (gynecomastia).
How Does Liposuction Reshape The Body?
A fit female body has more defined curves, while a male body has more stronger and straight lines. Liposuction is intended to reconstruct these lines in both men and women. In women, the waistline is slimmed down by removing excess fat deposits in the abdomen, waist and buttocks. Moreover, more voluminous buttocks and a higher butt to waist ratio can be obtained by injecting the removed fat into the buttocks. The legs can be given a smoother appearance by removing the regional excess fat. The jowl and arm area can be slimmed down.
Liposuction Operation
Liposuction is usually performed under general anesthesia, but despite being rare, local anesthesia may also be preferred when the procedure is performed on a very limited area. It takes between 2 to 4 hours depending on the largeness of the application area. The excess fat is taken out from the desired areas through incisions of 4-5 mm in length. After the operation,1-night hospital stay is needed. Patients can return to their daily activities within 4 to 5 days. A corset is used to wrap the application areas for a period of 1 month. The desired result of the procedure is seen within 3 to 6 months.
What are the Differences between VASER Liposuction and Classical Liposuction?
We prefer VASER liposuction for almost all our patients in our clinic. It has many advantages over the classical liposuction. In the VASER liposuction procedure; fat deposits are liquefied with the help of ultrasonic sound waves, and then liquefied fat is aspirated from the application area. It is a less traumatic technique. Therefore, it causes less pain, redness and bruising after the operation. It enables us to remove a larger amount of fat more homogeneously, minimizing the possibility of irregularity and fluctuations. Since it allows for a larger amount of fat removal, it enables us to reveal more details.
What is 3D VASER Liposuction?
3D VASER Liposuction is a technique that we use to reveal muscle silhouettes and add more definition to curves in the body. In order for this technique to be used, the patient should have defined muscle tone. In men, the abdominal muscles called six pack, the midline groove extending upwards on the belly, the chest muscles as well as the other muscles in the abdomen and waist area are given definition to reveal their shadows. In women, it is performed to obtain slight shading on the sides of the abdomen, a slight groove extending upward on the abdomen, muscle shadows in the upper buttock area, and 2 dimples on the buttocks.
Can the Fat Removed With Liposuction Be Injected Into Other Areas?
It is a procedure that we perform quite commonly. Almost one of every two liposuction operations that I perform involves fat injection as well. This is because an athletic body should have not only protrusions but also concavities. In order to obtain a slim waist appearance, liposuction is applied to the waistline; but when the removed fat is injected into the buttocks, a slimmer, S-shaped waist curve is obtained. In leg reshaping, fat can be removed from the regional excess fat deposits and then can be injected into the collapsed areas. In order to make the facial area look fuller and younger, we inject the fat removed from other areas into the cheeks, lips, cheekbones, chin, etc. Since fat cells are rich in stem cells, they also improve skin quality in the injection area.
How Much Weight Can I Lose With Liposuction?
It should be remembered that liposuction is not a procedure that we perform for weight loss. After the operation, your weight slightly decreases in proportion to the amount of fat removed from your body. However, the primary purpose is to reshape the body.
Postoperative Period Of Liposuction
Patients are discharged 1 to 2 hours after operations performed under local anesthesia, and the next day after operations performed under general anesthesia. Patients are asked to get up and walk 5 to 6 hours after the operation. Patients can take a bath 3 days after the operation. Our patients can return to their daily activities within 4 to 5 days. For a better reshaping, we recommend wearing a corset for 4 weeks.
