Gynecomastia is a feminine growth in the male breast. A physiological gynecomastia (false gynecomastia) can be observed in adolescence and at old ages, but it is a temporary condition. Apart from this, a permanent breast enlargement is called gynecomastia. It is seen with an incidence of almost up to 30% in men. Men with gynecomastia problems prefer loose clothes to camouflage this condition, abstain from swimming in the sea or pools, and suffer from serious loss of self-confidence. Since its treatment is easy-to-perform and its postoperative recovery process is fast, the majority of men with gynecomastia problems consult a plastic surgeon for treatment.

Is It Possible To Get Rid Of Gynecomastia By Exercising?

Since there are excess development of glandular breast tissue and accumulation of fat cells that carry hormone receptors in the breasts, it is not possible for men with gynecomastia to get rid of their problem by exercising.

What Are The Treatment Options For Gynecomastia?

The degree of gynecomastia is the main parameter used to determine the treatment of gynecomastia. In people with mild to moderate breast enlargement but no severe skin sagging, it is possible to achieve very successful results by performing liposuction alone. In people with severe breast enlargement and sagging skin problems, breasts can be surgically reduced by performing a procedure that will be preferred depending on the person's chest structure. In some cases, the fat accumulation can extend up to the armpits. Excess fat accumulation in the underarm area can also be eliminated by liposuction.

VASER Liposuction In The Treatment Of Gynecomastia? Classic Liposuction?

Operation

Operations are performed under general anesthesia. An operation takes 1 hour on average. Patients are usually discharged the same day of the operation. After 3 days, daily activities can be performed. Patients can take a bath 3 days after the operation. A corset in the form of a sleeveless undershirt is worn for a period of at least 3 weeks. It is recommended to avoid strenuous exercises for 2 weeks.

We often perform the gynecomastia procedure through 2 incisions of 6 mm length. Since these incisions remain on your own skin folds under the breast, the procedure leaves no noticeable scars.

Does Gynecomastia Recur After The Operation?

In a gynecomastia operation, almost the entire fat tissue in the chest area is removed. Fat accumulation is not expected to recur in this area, but in case of a significant weight gain (25-30 kg), fat accumulation can be observed in the whole body including the chest area.
